Our airport is one of the leading general aviation airports on the east coast. The infrastructure includes a primary 5,900-foot Precision ILS runway and a 420,000 square foot main ramp that can accommodate regional jet series aircraft.
These assets are complemented by a safe, secure, business-friendly operating environment. The facility includes a lounge for pilots and navigation services. A complimentary crew as well as catering can be arranged to meet your specifications.
We also offer flight training year round, including Private, Instrument and Commercial ratings, as well as a CATS Testing Center.

History
The Danville Regional Airport has a rich history.
As of July 1, Averett University became the fixed-based operator of the Danville Regional Airport, which houses the University’s George C. Falk Flight Center and aeronautics program.
Averett is building upon the solid foundation provided by former operator, General Aviation – a multi-generational, family-owned company that managed the airport since 1948. Averett joins the aviation community in expressing an eternal debt of gratitude to founder Paul Rembold, his son and daughter in-law Mike and Libby, and their son for their vision, persistence and commitment to service over these 70 years of aviation growth in the region.
The Averett University Flight Operations Center is named after late George Falk who was instrumental in forming the University’s aviation program. Falk served in World War II in the U.S. Army as a pilot flying B-17 and B-29 bombers and spent 23 years with Dan River Inc., prior to coming to Averett as the director of financial aid. Formed in 1980, the aeronautics program now has more than 100 degree seeking students, making it the sixth largest major at Averett.
